Measuring and analysing equatorial skies
PhD research
This project is a part of a broader research goal to study daylight colour renditions of the built environment due to changing colours of the sky. To document the range of colour and spectra of the equatorial skies, I took 40 discrete measurements, across the year, and at various times of the day. Measurements were taken using the Konica Minolta illuminance spectrophotometer CL-500A and the sky conditions were documented using HDR (High Dynamic Range) Photography. I also perform a detailed spectral and colour analysis of the 40 measurements to characterise the equatorial skies.
These measurements of spectra and colour are needed when performing spectral daylight simulations in LARK. Here is my GitHub repository to download these 40 measurements.
